APPELLATIONS OF ORIGIN OF 7 GEORGIAN WINES ARE REGISTERED IN THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC
“Khvanchkara”, “Tvishi”, “Akhasheni”, “Tsinandali”, “Mukuzhani”, “Napareuli”, and “Kindzmarauli”
Kyrgyz Patent Office issued registration titles for seven appellations of origin (AO) of Georgian wines. Exclusive rights on Khvanchkara, Tvishi, Akhasheni, Tsinandali, Mukuzani, Napareuli and Kindzmarauli were granted to the “Georgian National Wine Agency” on the territory of Kyrgyz Republic.
On March 31, 2014 Sakpatenti submitted to Kyrgyzpatent the applications for registration of the above-mentioned Appellations of Origin of Georgian wines. After completion of the required procedures, state register of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan registered “Khvanchkara”, “Tvishi”, and five more appellations for the term of ten years, till 31 March, 2024.
Protection of appellations of origin in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and other countries will contribute to the development of agriculture in Georgia, increasing of incomes in the regions, and improvement of economy.
